Kommentar till nya försörjningskraven

Den första november träder de nya försörjningskraven i kraft. Det innebär att det nu krävs en inkomst på minst 27 360 kronor i månaden före skatt för att få behålla sitt arbetstillstånd och tillhörande uppehållstillstånd. Förlorar man arbetstillståndet förlorar man också arbetet. Det innebär en risk för utvisning för tusentals arbetare.

Detta är inte ett beslut från Migrationsverket, utan från regeringen. Hotell- och restaurangfacket har fört en lång kamp mot att regeringen ska bestämma lönenivåerna, men vi har inte fått gehör för vår kritik och förra årets valresultat blev inte heller det vi önskade och arbetade för.

 

Statement on the new income requirements

The new income requirements take effect in the first on November. This entails a gross monthly wage of at least 27 360 SEK to maintain a work permit and its accompanying residence permit. Losing the work permit also results in termination of employment. This puts thousands of workers at risk of deportation.

This is not a decision from the Migration Board, but rather the government itself. The Hotel and restaurant workers’ union has waged a long struggle against the government setting wage levels, but our criticism has fallen on deaf ears, and last year’s election result was also not the one we hoped or worked for.
